Lịch sử hình thành và phát triển của ngành Sinh trắc học dấu vân tay

Ngành Sinh trắc học dấu vân tay (Dermatoglyphics) là một lĩnh vực khoa học kết hợp giữa sinh học, giải phẫu học, tâm lý học và di truyền học, với lịch sử phát triển kéo dài hàng trăm năm:

  • Năm 1684, Tiến sĩ Nehemiah Grew đã có bài giảng đầu tiên tại Đại học Hoàng gia Anh (Royal Society), trình bày chi tiết về những đặc điểm độc đáo trên đầu ngón tay con người.

  • Năm 1685, nhà giải phẫu học người Ý Marcello Malpighi xuất bản cuốn sách đầu tiên có hình minh họa chi tiết về dấu vân tay.

  • Năm 1788, học giả J.C.A Mayer là người đầu tiên đưa ra nguyên lý rằng: “Dấu vân tay không bao giờ giống nhau hoàn toàn giữa hai người. Một số người có dấu vân tay tương tự, trong khi những người khác lại có sự khác biệt đáng kể.”

  • Năm 1823, Giáo sư John E. Purkinje tại Đại học Breslau (Đức) đã đề xuất hệ thống phân loại dấu vân tay đầu tiên – tiền đề cho việc phân loại dấu vân tay hiện đại.

  • Năm 1833, nhà giải phẫu học Charles Bell xuất bản tác phẩm “The Hand: Its Mechanism and Vital Endowments” (tạm dịch: Bàn tay – Cấu trúc và năng lực thiên phú), trong đó có đề cập đến mối liên hệ giữa kết cấu vân tay và chức năng bàn tay.

  • Năm 1858, William Herschel, một quan chức người Anh làm việc tại Bengal (Ấn Độ), là người đầu tiên áp dụng dấu vân tay trong việc nhận diện cá nhân cho mục đích hành chính.

  • Năm 1883, nhà văn Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) là người đầu tiên viết về việc sử dụng dấu vân tay để phá án trong tiểu thuyết Life on the Mississippi.

  • Năm 1892, nhà nhân học Francis Galton (em họ Charles Darwin) đã phát triển hệ thống thực hành nhận dạng dấu vân tay đầu tiên. Ông đặt nền móng cho ngành Nhân học dấu vân tay, chứng minh tính vĩnh cửu và không trùng lặp của dấu vân tay. Ông cũng là người đầu tiên nghiên cứu dấu vân tay của các cặp song sinh và đưa ra mối liên hệ với di truyền học.

  • Năm 1902, Harris Hawthorne Wilder thiết lập hệ thống cơ bản về hình thái học và di truyền học trong nghiên cứu lòng bàn tay và dấu vân tay.

  • Năm 1904, Inez Whipple công bố nghiên cứu chuyên sâu đầu tiên về dấu vân tay ở các loài động vật khác.

  • Năm 1926, Tiến sĩ Harold Cummins phát hiện rằng dấu vân tay hình thành trong khoảng tuần thứ 13 đến 19 của thai kỳ, song song với sự phát triển của não bộ. Ông là người đầu tiên sử dụng thuật ngữ “Dermatoglyphics” để chỉ ngành khoa học nghiên cứu dấu vân tay. Từ đây, Dermatoglyphics trở thành một lĩnh vực nghiên cứu độc lập.

  • Năm 1930, Hiệp hội SSPP (Society for the Study of Physiological Patterns) bắt đầu công trình phân loại 5 chủng dấu vân tay chính và nghiên cứu những đặc điểm nổi bật của chúng.

  • Năm 1958, nhà nghiên cứu Noel Jaquin phát hiện rằng mỗi loại dấu vân tay phản ánh những đặc trưng tính cách khác nhau ở con người.

  • Năm 1981, Giáo sư Roger W. Sperry và cộng sự nhận giải Nobel Y học nhờ công trình về chức năng não trái – não phải và lý thuyết toàn não, góp phần lớn vào nền tảng khoa học của ngành Sinh trắc học dấu vân tay.

  • Những năm 1985, Tiến sĩ Chen Yi Mou (Đài Loan) là người tiên phong ứng dụng Sinh trắc học dấu vân tay trong giáo dục. Ông kết hợp nghiên cứu dấu vân tay với thuyết Đa trí thông minh (Multiple Intelligences) của Tiến sĩ Howard Gardner (Đại học Harvard, Mỹ).

  • Năm 1994, Giáo sư Lin đưa ngành khoa học này vào châu Á, đặc biệt là Đài Loan, tạo ra làn sóng ứng dụng mạnh mẽ trong học tập và phát triển cá nhân.

  • Năm 2004, Công ty WellGen Enterprise (Đài Loan) bắt đầu áp dụng công nghệ cao để thu thập và phân tích dấu vân tay trên cơ sở dữ liệu hàng triệu người. Phân tích thống kê giúp nâng cao độ chính xác và mở ra một bước tiến mới cho ngành.

  • Cùng thời điểm này, Trung tâm IBMBS (International Behavioral and Social Biometrics Center) đã công bố hơn 7.000 luận án nghiên cứu chuyên sâu về lĩnh vực này.

  • Đến năm 2010, Sinh trắc học dấu vân tay chính thức được đưa vào Việt Nam, mở ra một hướng đi mới trong giáo dục, định hướng phát triển năng lực cá nhân và khai phá tiềm năng con người.
